How can we help?

Guides for teachers, students, and school admins. Search a topic or browse the articles below.

Getting Started

From the teacher home screen, open Create Quiz. Give the quiz a title, then describe the topic: subject, grade or age, what to include or leave out, and how hard it should be. You can also upload a document and generate from that. Enhance with AI can help you tighten the brief before you generate. It does not change the question count, language, or question types.

Choose the language, how many questions you want, and at least one question type. Generation is queued. While it runs, the quiz appears under Generating on the home screen. When it is ready, review every question: edit the wording, the SOLO level, the sample answer, and the expected length. Nothing is assigned to students until you publish and assign it.

Assign the quiz to one or more classes, or turn on Allow anonymous join if anyone with the code should be able to answer without an account. Copy the join code, or share the join link, from the quiz. Students enter that code on Join a quiz. A class code is a different code — it adds a student to the class, and it does not start a quiz.

Open My classes and create a class. Quizite shows a class join code on that class. Students join the class with that code (Join a class). Teachers and other staff cannot redeem a class code — class codes work on student accounts only.

A quiz has its own assignment join code, separate from the class code. After you assign a quiz, copy the join code or the link that opens Join a quiz with the code filled in. Students who already have an account sign in and enter the code. If you turned on Allow anonymous join, someone without an account can enter a name and answer. They can create an account afterwards if they want to keep the result on a login.

If a code is rejected, check which code you sent (class versus quiz), that the assignment is open, and that the student has not already used every attempt.

SOLO Taxonomy (Structure of Observed Learning Outcomes) describes how a response is structured, from a single relevant idea up to a generalisation that goes beyond the material. Quizite uses four levels: Unistructural, Multistructural, Relational, and Extended Abstract.

Unistructural is one relevant point. Multistructural is several relevant points that are not yet connected. Relational connects those points into an explanation. Extended Abstract goes further: the student applies, generalises, or questions the idea beyond the given material.

Questions are tagged with a target SOLO level, and open-text answers can be evaluated against that level. The result is a picture of depth, not only a percentage. You can change a question’s level before you assign the quiz, and you can override an evaluation after students submit.

Open Profile to set your photo (JPG, PNG, or GIF, up to 2 MB) and full name. Profile also lists the organisations you belong to. Join by code on that screen accepts an organisation or class code. Class codes can only be used on student accounts, so a teacher profile will not join a class that way.

Open Settings for the rest of the account: app language (or the device language), email notifications, quiz reminders, and dark mode. Change password and Update email are in Settings as well. A new email address is not used for sign-in until you confirm the link we send to it.

Subscription, plans, and Manage billing sit with the account that pays for the workspace. Students do not pick a plan.

Teacher Guide

The brief does most of the work. Name the subject, the specific topic, the year group, and one or two learning goals. Say what to leave out. “Photosynthesis for Year 9, focus on the light-dependent reactions, not the Calvin cycle” produces a tighter quiz than “biology”.

Generate, then edit. Change any question, retarget its SOLO level, and rewrite the sample answer so it matches how you will mark. Upload a document when the quiz should stay close to a text you already use. Generating a quiz from a topic and generating one from a document spend different amounts of credits (5 and 3 by default).

Answer integrity settings are optional deterrents, not automatic penalties. Block paste stops pasting into free-text answers. Prevent screenshots applies on the mobile apps (Android blocks capture; iOS warns and blurs the app switcher) and is not available on the web. Capture paste and typing signals flags answers for you to review. A flag is a signal, not proof of cheating.

Each class has its own join code and its own list of students. Create one class per teaching group rather than one class for the whole school, so a quiz can be assigned to the right group.

The same quiz can be assigned to more than one class. Each assignment has its own join code, dates, and attempt limit, so one class can sit the quiz without opening it for the others.

Folders, tags, and favourites on your quizzes are for your own library. They are not visible to students.

Open Results for a published quiz. You will see who submitted, their score, and the SOLO level of open-text answers once evaluation finishes. Evaluation runs after submit, so a level may appear a short time after the student finishes.

Use the level to see the shape of the answer: a high score with mostly Unistructural responses means students recalled points without connecting them. Relational and Extended Abstract responses are the ones that explain and then go beyond the material.

Open an individual answer to read it, see any integrity signal (for example paste or unusually fast typing), and apply a teacher override if you disagree with the mark. An override is labelled on the result so you can tell it from the original evaluation.

To print the quiz, open it and choose Export / Print. You can include a worksheet, an answer key, and a SOLO teacher guide, as a PDF or a Word file, with paper size, columns, and answer space. Printable export is a paid-plan feature. On a free workspace the app will ask you to upgrade; on a school plan, ask the organisation admin to upgrade if the option is locked.

Scores and SOLO levels are read on the Results screen. A CSV of those results exists for the quiz owner, but the app does not yet show a Download CSV button. Email hello@quizite.com with the quiz name if you need the spreadsheet.

Importing quizzes from Google Forms, Microsoft Forms, or a CSV is not available. Build the quiz in Quizite, with AI or by editing questions yourself.

Student Guide

There are two codes. A class code adds you to the teacher’s class. A quiz join code opens one assignment. They are not interchangeable.

To join a class, use Join a class and enter the class code from your teacher. You need a student account. Teacher accounts cannot join a class with a code.

To sit a quiz, open Join a quiz and enter the assignment code, or open the link your teacher sent. If the quiz allows anonymous join, you can enter your name and answer without registering. Creating an account afterwards keeps that result on a login you can return to.

Open the assignment and choose Start attempt. Answer each question, then submit. You will see a confirmation that the response was recorded. If the assignment has a time limit, the attempt ends when the time runs out.

The assignment shows how many attempts you have used. When none remain, the app says you have used all attempts. You cannot start another one unless the teacher sets up a new assignment.

If Block paste is on, pasting into a written answer will not work. Type the answer. Screenshot blocking, where the teacher has turned it on, applies in the mobile app and not in a browser.

After a written answer is evaluated, your result can show a SOLO level. It describes how your answer was structured, not whether you are a “good” or “bad” student.

Unistructural means one relevant idea. Multistructural means several relevant ideas that are not linked. Relational means you connected the ideas into an explanation. Extended Abstract means you took that explanation further — an example, a limitation, or a generalisation beyond the question.

The level can take a moment to appear, because evaluation runs after you submit. Your teacher can also change a mark. If they do, the result shows a teacher override.

Open the assignment after you submit and choose View my results. You will see points, the SOLO level when one has been evaluated, and any written feedback.

Feedback and the SOLO level are produced after submission. If the result is not there yet, wait and open it again rather than starting a second attempt.

If something looks wrong, tell your teacher. They can read the answer and override the mark. You cannot edit a response after it has been submitted.

Organization Guide

School plans include teacher seats. Students do not use a seat. The organisation admin sees seats used and seats available on the organisation subscription screen, and can release a seat that is no longer needed.

The app does not yet send an email invitation from a button. To add a colleague, email hello@quizite.com from the admin account and include the organisation name and the teacher’s email. Their plan must allow another teacher. If you are over the seat limit, upgrade the plan or release a seat first.

Each teacher still has their own login. Quizzes they create in a personal workspace are not automatically shared with the school. Assign quizzes to classes inside the organisation when the school should keep them.

Single sign-on (Google, Microsoft, or a school identity provider) is not available. Teachers and students sign in with the email and password on their Quizite account.

If someone forgets the password, they use Forgot password on the sign-in screen. We email a reset link to that address. The link is the only way to set a new password; we never send the password itself.

When SSO is offered later, existing email accounts will keep working. You do not need to wait for it to run a class.

Quizite does not yet connect to Google Classroom, Canvas, Moodle, or Schoology. There is no roster sync and no grade passback.

Share the assignment join code or the join link with the class, including from your LMS as an ordinary link. Students open Quizite and enter the code. Results stay in Quizite on the Results screen.

For a paper copy, use Export / Print on the quiz. For a spreadsheet of scores, email hello@quizite.com — a CSV exists, and the in-app download button does not yet.

Teachers work from the home screen: My Quizzes, Create Quiz, Generating, Results, Last Quiz, and My classes. That is the day-to-day product. There is no separate “school admin console” inside the app.

Organisation admins use the organisation subscription screen for the plan, the shared AI credit pool, seat usage, and Manage billing. Manage billing opens the Stripe customer portal for the card, invoices, and cancellation.

Quizite staff use an internal admin site. School admins do not get access to it. If you need a teacher added, a seat checked, or an invoice explained, use the subscription screen or email hello@quizite.com.

Billing & Subscriptions

Open Subscription, then Plans. The Free plan stays free and allows 3 active quizzes. New workspaces also receive 20 trial credits for AI features. Paid plans are listed with monthly and yearly prices in EUR, USD, or GBP.

Checkout is handled by Stripe. When it succeeds you return to the subscription screen. AI credits on a paid plan are shared by the organisation. Students never spend credits; generation and evaluation draw from the teacher or school pool. Evaluating an answer costs 2 credits by default.

Cancelling a paid plan stops it renewing at the end of the period you have already paid for. Access continues until that date. Cancellation is not a refund of the current period.

Choose monthly or yearly on the Plans screen before you check out. Yearly is one charge covering the year. Monthly renews each month until you cancel.

Cancel from Manage billing on the subscription screen. The plan remains active until the end of the period, then it does not renew. You keep quizzes and results either way.

To change card, see invoices, or switch the billing details Stripe holds, use Manage billing. That opens Stripe’s portal and brings you back to Quizite when you are done.

The card is collected by Stripe during checkout, not typed into Quizite. Quizite does not store the full card number.

To replace a card or update the billing email, open the subscription screen and choose Manage billing. The portal is available once the organisation has a Stripe customer, which checkout creates.

If a renewal fails, update the card in that portal. An unpaid invoice also blocks closing the account until it is settled.

There is no automatic refund button. Email hello@quizite.com from the address on the account, with the organisation name, the date of the charge, and why you are asking. We reply within one business day to confirm what we can do.

Cancelling in Manage billing stops the next renewal. It does not by itself return the money already charged for the current month or year.

Troubleshooting

Confirm which code you sent. The class code joins the class. The quiz code starts an assignment. A student who types the quiz code into Join a class, or the class code into Join a quiz, will be rejected.

Class codes work on student accounts only. If you are testing with your teacher login, join will fail. Use a student account, or turn on Allow anonymous join and open the quiz code without signing in.

Also check that the assignment is open, that the student has attempts left, and that the code was copied in full. Codes are not case-sensitive, but a missing character still fails.

Generation spends credits. If the workspace has none left, generation stops until you upgrade, buy credits, or the trial is replaced. Trial credits on a new workspace are 20. The subscription screen shows the balance.

A quiz that is still running sits under Generating. Leave it there rather than starting a second identical job. If it fails, open Create Quiz and try again with a shorter brief, or paste the topic instead of uploading a document.

Evaluation of student answers is separate from generation and also spends credits (2 by default). If results have no SOLO level yet, wait for evaluation, then check that the credit pool was not empty when they submitted.

There is no LMS sync to debug. Classroom, Canvas, Moodle, and Schoology are not connected, so rosters and grades will not update from Quizite.

Put the join link in your LMS as a normal URL, and have students submit inside Quizite. Read scores on Results.

If a student in the LMS cannot see a grade, the grade was never sent. It only exists in Quizite.

The app has no teacher button that deletes a submitted attempt. The submission stays on Results so the class record is intact.

If the mark is wrong, open the answer and set a teacher override. The result shows that you changed it. If the student should sit the quiz again, create a new assignment, or email hello@quizite.com and ask us to remove that attempt. Say the quiz name and the student name.

When an assignment allows more than one attempt, the student can start another until the limit is used. The assignment screen shows how many are left. The default is one attempt.

Your account

In Settings, choose Change password. You will need the current password and the new one twice. If you have forgotten the current password, sign out and use Forgot password. The reset link is emailed to the address on the account.

Update email sends a confirmation link to the new address. Until you open that link, sign in with the current email. The old address keeps working until the new one is confirmed.

We will not change an email or password because someone asks in a support email without access to the inbox. Use the links in the app so the account itself approves the change.

In Settings, under Delete account, choose Download my data. We build a ZIP of the personal data we hold and email you when it is ready. The download link expires after 7 days.

The export is a copy. It does not close the account, and it does not remove you from classes. Generate it before you delete the account if you want a copy of your profile and activity.

Organisation-owned quizzes and other people’s answers are not all yours to download. The ZIP covers your account. A school that needs its own record should export from Results or ask us for the CSV.

In Settings, open Delete account. Read the summary of what will be removed and what the school keeps. Confirm with your password. If you have a personal workspace, choose whether to delete it or export it and then delete it. If a subscription renews, you must acknowledge that it will be set to cancel at the end of the period.

We email a confirmation link. It is valid for 24 hours. The account is not closed when you press the button — it is closed only after you open that link. You can still sign in. Deletion is scheduled 30 days later. We email a reminder 3 days before that date. Until then, the banner in the app lets you cancel and keep the account.

When the date arrives we anonymise the account: the name and email are replaced, the password and photo are removed, and sessions are signed out. Submitted work that belongs to a class or organisation stays, without your identity on it. We do not immediately erase those rows.

If you are the only admin of a school that still has other people in it, deletion is blocked until another admin is in place. If you are the only member, you can delete the organisation through the same email confirmation. Unpaid invoices must be paid first. The Privacy Policy describes the categories of data in more detail.
